Hi All, this document deals with how to upgrade AWS elastic search to a different version.

Elasticsearch is a search engine based on the Lucene library. It provides a distributed, multitenant-capable full-text search engine with an HTTP web interface and schema-free JSON documents. Elasticsearch is developed in Java.

AWS provides elastic search and Kibana as service which is fully managed by AWS. User can set up the service as per his requirement. AWS provides the service is highly available topology for customers.

This document shows you the steps to upgrade the AWS elastic search service to the latest one.

Step 1: Login to AWS console and select elasticsearch service from services.

Step 2: Select your elastic search domain from my domains in the left side section.

Step 3:  From the domain option click on the upgrade domain.

Step 4: Now select the version and start the upgrade process.

Step 5: Now wait for the domain to be available.

Step 6:  You can check the history of the upgrade from the upgrade history tab, the sample output shows like this.
