Hi all, this document shows how to install influxdb on centos/ubuntu
nfluxDB is an open-source time series database developed by InfluxData.

It is written in Go and optimized for fast, high-availability storage and retrieval of time series data in fields such as operations monitoring, application metrics, Internet of Things sensor data, and real-time analytics

For ubuntu

Step 1: Add the repository and sign the pgp key

wget -qO- https://repos.influxdata.com/influxdb.key | sudo apt-key add -
source /etc/lsb-release
echo "deb https://repos.influxdata.com/${DISTRIB_ID,,} ${DISTRIB_CODENAME} stable" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/influxdb.list

Step 2: Update the system repository and install influxdb

sudo apt-get update 
sudo apt-get install influxdb
sudo service influxdb start

For centos

Step 1: Add the repository

vi /etc/yum.repos.d/influxdb.repo

[influxdb]
name = InfluxDB Repository - RHEL \$releasever
baseurl = https://repos.influxdata.com/rhel/\$releasever/\$basearch/stable
enabled = 1
gpgcheck = 1
gpgkey = https://repos.influxdata.com/influxdb.key

Step 2: Update the system repository and install influxdb

sudo yum install influxdb
sudo service influxdb start
