Hi All, this document deals with how to install firebird in centos7
Firebird is an open-source SQL relational database management system that “runs on Linux, Microsoft Windows, macOS, and several Unix platforms”.

The database forked from Borland’s open source edition of InterBase in 2000, but since Firebird 1.5 the code has been largely rewritten


Step 1: Install epel releases

yum -y install epel-release

Step 2: Install firebird

yum -y install firebird

Step 3: chanage the permission to firebird user.

chown -R firebird:firebird /tmp/firebird

Step 4: Now start and enable the service.

systemctl start firebird-superserver
systemctl enable firebird-superserver
